NOTICE OF VACANCY

Mathematics Instructor

 

Wind
River Tribal College
is located in central Wyoming
on the Wind River Indian Reservation and is a member of the American Indian
Higher Education Consortium.  The
College's mission is to serve the higher education needs of the Northern
Arapaho and Eastern Shoshone Tribes.

 

The Board of Regents invites
applications for a teaching position that offers qualified individuals the
opportunity to exercise creative interests and teaching skills to develop the
College's academic departments.  The Mathematics
Instructor will also assist the President and Board of Regents in achieving
accreditation through the American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC)
and North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful applicant
will be required to: Develop and teach introductory math courses; Instruct courses
in General Education curriculum and Associate of Arts Degree programs; Recruit
and provide leadership to adjunct instructors; Recommend and participate in the
development and implementation of college policies and procedures regarding
curriculum development and class schedules; Represent the College to other
tribal programs as well as externally to media, government agencies, funding
agencies, students, and/or the general public/local community; Work
collaboratively with all WRTC staff to secure accreditation in North Central
Association of Colleges and Schools.

 

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
    from an accredited institution with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in
    mathematics. Special consideration will
    be given to those with a background in biology chemistry, earth science, or
    environmental science. Ph.D.
    preferred.
  • Minimum of three
    years teaching experience in higher education, preferably in a Tribal College
    environment.
  • Experience
    directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified above.
  • Knowledge of the
    Wind River Reservation Community and Northern Arapaho history, culture, and
    philosophy.
  • Indian
    preference applies as per Wind
    River Tribal College policy.
