The
Wind River Tribal College coordinates with the Sky People Higher
Education Program and the University of Wyoming Trio Programs to serve
students and individuals who want to further their skills and
education. Academic Counseling from all of these programs is available
to assist students to succeed with their post-secondary experience.
SKY PEOPLE HIGHER EDUCATION
The Sky People Higher Education assists students through the
application, financial aid and program requirement process toward
funding. Sky People Higher Education assists students to remain
eligible and succeed in their college and/or vocational careers.
Academic counseling and advisement is offered to those who are in need.
CENTER GOALS
• To assist individuals in succeeding in post-secondary or secondary education.
• To assist high school drop-outs in completing their GED.
• To assist college-bound students with financial aid and enrollment or placement.
Upward
Bound. The purpose of Upward Bound is to assist high school students in
developing necessary skills to achieve their aspirations and graduate
with a four year degree.
PROGRAM GOALS
•
To provide opportunity to experience success in academics, citizenship,
leadership, building positive relationships with people of differing
backgrounds.
• To prepare students for upward mobility through higher education.

Educational
Talent Search. The purpose of ETS is to identify and support young
people with the potential and the desire to go to college.
PROGRAM GOALS
• To help students stay in school.
• To help students achieve their potential.
• To assist individuals who have left public school to identify educational alternatives.
• To make youth and their families aware of college opportunities.

GED CLASSES/TESTING
Any one 18 years of age or older without a high school diploma may
prepare for and take the General Education Development (GED) tests.
Anyone who is 17 years of age may get a waiver from the GED
instructors. Students who are 16 years of age may take the GED only if
court-ordered and only in exceptional cases.
Individualized preparation for the GED tests is offered at no charge
during the daytime hours in the GED classroom at the tribal college.
GED classes and testing schedules at the Tribal College are:
Summer Hours
Tuesdays: 9am- 12pm
Wednesdays: 9am-l2pm & 6pm-9pm
Thursdays: 9am- 12pm & 6pm-9pm
